Many dedicated servers come with multiple IPs nowadays, which might be handy for certain purposes.
The way to add multiple IPs to openSUSE is very simple. You have two options: either add them via Yast or edit the configuration file by hand.
Lets assume that the extra ips from your dedicated server are 123.123.123.001, 123.123.123.002 and 123.123.123.003
The Yast way
In YaST go to Network Devices, Network card, select ifup method, select the propper network card and click edit. From the *advanced* drop down menu choose *additional addresses* and click add. Give it a name in the *alias name* field e.g. first_extra_ip, in the ip adress field set your first extra IP (123.123.123.001 in the example) and in the netmask field you set the propper netmask (255.255.255.0 in the example). Repeat this process for every extra IP you want to add.
Alternatively, edit the configfile:
Add your ips like this:
Voila, you are done!
